A couple of weeks ago, I arranged for a photo session with this girl I met through a modeling site. I bought this old suit from the 50's on ebay a while ago, and had been looking for a model suitable for a little series of retro-style photos. Sadly, it wasn't the best day for a photo session, considering the fact that the rain started pouring right when we ventured outside and it was really really cold. But she was a great model, not letting the weather distract her from making cute poses. The same thing can't really be said about me, I spent most of the photo session being really stressed out by the rain storm. Anyway, some of the photos at least turned out fairly sharp and pretty.
I think I made a mistake in submitting my favourite photo from the session first, because all the rest kinda fades in comparison to that photo. But oh well, here's another one anyway.
Model: Caroline Å.
Camera: Pentax 67
Film: Kodak Portra 160 NC
Copied on Kodak Supra Endura photo paper
No photoshop, except from some dust removal and colour adjusting due to having the world's lousiest scanner.
rain and cold or not i dont think you could have pulled this off any better, great picture, great model/suit selection....you could have eneded up with a real stuffy look
I really like the contrast of the solid and foreboding architecture in comparison with her delicate and translucent presence. Great composition and use of shadow in the foreground to set the stage.
nice image, somewhat retro
i love the cool colors, they put a lot of focus on her beautyfully lushy lips
as alphatude says the contrast between her minute figure and the imposing architecture is something to behold.
the fact that the stairs are not perfectly horizontal bothers me a bit, but that's just a minor detail
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
