This photo is from a photo session Sanna and I had in the spring of 2001. We were tired of taking ordinary portraits so we went for pale skin, wedding dresses, syringes, blood and smeary makeup in the bathtub. And please, don't tell me that drugs are bad and that you shouldn't glamourize heroin addiction. I already know that. The photo isn't really about heroin addiction, but more a comment to the strange fashion trend named heroin chic. Just so you know, the thing in her mouth is a syringe not a cigarette (people have a tendency to mistake it for a cigarette). I know the photo is kinda cliché and cheesy but I was 16 when I took it. When you're sixteen, wedding dresses and blood seems much more cool than they do when you grow older. Plus, I absolutely love the colour scheme in this photo. The photo was taken with my old Praktica LTL and a flash and, as always, the photo has not been digitally edited.
